Pat (Patrick James O´Connell) was born in London in 1957, but moved away at the age of three. Until he moved to Hamburg in 1988, he had never lived in one place for more than 5 years. Pat, with his Irish name, describes himself as half-English, half-Scottish and half German. Pat studied composition with Simon Bainbridge, and started studying music at Edinburgh University. He followed the advice of his professor at the time, who recommended that he go on the stage -"a dusty Music-faculty is not the place for you." When not on tour with John or Pierin-et Pierrot, Pat lives and works in Hamburg, writing, arranging and playing Music (among others at the Ohnsorg Theatre where he has written several musicals in Plattdeutsch. Since last summer, Pat has been working with Seetours as Musical director aboard the cs AIDA. He is a passionate Wagnerite , loves Bridge , theatre, opera, computer programming , and studying the German language in all its forms. |
